MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ARE AWARE OF THE EFFECTS OF MENOPAUSE THAN EVER BEFORE
The life expectancy of a woman is now over 80 years; she will live 30 or more of these years in a post-menopausal state. Menopause is often a time of many physical and social changes. It could be viewed as a "rite of passage", a time in life's journey when we move from one stage to another. It signals an interval during which we welcome new opportunities and challenges. In a rite of passage, something dies and something is born. The past is put to rest as we welcome new opportunities and new ventures. For some, menopause is a time to enjoy release from responsibilities of children. For others, it is a time to take on new responsibilities and care for aging parents.
Menopause is a creative time, a time to give a new expression to life. And, with all that we know and with all the help that is available to you, it is your choice whether to suffer through this passage or whether to enjoy life and happiness.
Whether or not you have reached this phase of your life, you may know someone who has or is going through menopause.
| ... menopause is neither an illness nor a disease, it is only another natural phase in a woman's life |
